mirrored pixels

This is the latest mutation of the mylar light box that we have been playing with in the Tinkering Studio. This iteration is a full wall made up of hundreds of mylar tubes, which are sandwiched between two diffusing filters. There are three super-bright LEDs (red, blue and green) directed at the back of the wall. If you stand between the lights and the mirrored tube wall, you create colored shadows which then pass through the mirrored tubes, and the mirrored tubes mix the colored shadows into every conceivable color.

How pretty! :)

very very cool! show details on how you made this... I built a bigger tv-sized version of the lightbox to play with broadcast tv... ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l__Fe7Au17Q) and got very nice shifting image/colors and planned go go bigger yet.. but this is there and so nice!
bee you tee full!
