Making science fun and accessible is what Lucas likes best. In his experience almost everybody likes to explore and experiment, as long as they have the right tools in hand and feel empowered.

Lucas has been a Tinkerer in residence from September until November, 2015. At the Tinkering Studio he has helped out developing tinkering activities, and build some contraptions to tinker with, such as a linkages drawing machine and a gear driven drawing machine. He has also been looking for reusable material to use in Wind Tubes, and squeezed out thirty tubes of toothpaste, because the combination of aluminum and plastic made for a very good testing material: lightweight, bendable and easy to come by. In his work he likes to strip down the phenomena to their most basic principles.

Lucas works at Science Center NEMO in Amsterdam, where he develops exhibitions, activities and demos about science and technology for all age groups.
